Raya’s Story
On August 1, 2020, my cousin Raya Rachel Irakliev passed away unexpectedly at the age of 25. She was one of those people who lit up the room with her bright smile, contagious laugh, and big kind eyes. As many of you probably know, she cared deeply for the well-being of her family and friends, and most remarkably had an unmatched love for animals. Throughout her life, she rescued and found homes for dozens of animals—many of whom were destined for the worst. It didn’t matter that she already had 5 dogs (literally), she would take in 5 more if it meant saving their lives. Because of her love for animals, it seems fitting to honor her memory by donating to AZ Humane Society, a local animal rescue—specifically, through a naming opportunity which means the organization would honor her memory in return by placing her name on a permanent plaque on a public adoptable dog kennel. This is especially special because it means she would continue being apart of finding furever homes for thousands of dogs who come through the shelter. (Pictured below is Raya with some of her fur babies.)
The cost
In order to do this, we need to raise $7,500. I was assured by the organization that this donation will not only save animals today but for years to come. Please consider donating however much you can. Thank you in advance for your contribution. I cannot put into words how much it means to me and my family.
