Help animals during floods in Colombia

SOS Animals Colombia is a non-profit organisation helping animals in Colombia. We are based in Belgium and from Europe, we seek support for animals. We have received an SOS call from one of our member organisations there. 

 

The call came from a city southeast of Bogotá called Villavicencio. It has been several days of non-stop rain there, and because the city is located between mountains, avalanches have destroyed houses and have affected many people. As a result, entire neighborhoods have been evacuated.

 

Animals have also been affected, especially homeless animals, which are living on the streets or in private shelters. Rescuer teams are working hard to relocate them to some improvised places. So far, a dog shelter has been completely flooded, and the animals (28 dogs and 14 cats) are being relocated, but more animals are found in need every hour.
