Hi everyone, I'm reaching out to share the story of Angus, a sweet, vibrant 2-year-old cat who is currently fighting for his life.
What started as a routine vet visit for mild behavioral check-ups quickly turned into every pet owner's worst nightmare. Days after receiving standard vaccines, Angus became lethargic, weak, and stopped eating and drinking entirely. After a series of emergency tests, we received a devastating diagnosis: FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis).
FIP is a rare and aggressive viral condition that affects only about 2% of cats. While it was once considered a terminal diagnosis, there is now hope through specialized treatment-but it is incredibly expensive and requires immediate action. Angus is currently in feline ICU and his received his first dose of the analog GS441524 antiviral and will have to continue these specialty treatments for 83 days.
Why This Matters
Angus isn't just a pet; he is the soulmate and constant companion of my dear friend, Rachel.
Rachel spends her life caring for others as a Respiratory Therapist for NICU babies here in Atlanta. She dedicated her career to helping the smallest, most fragile lives breathe and thrive. Now, her own "baby" needs that same level of emergency
care.
How You Can Help
Because of the suddenness and severity of this condition, the costs for testing, hospitalization, and the intensive FIP treatment protocol have quickly exceeded what Rachel can provide on her own.
Time is of the essence. We are asking for any support you can give to help cover:
• Emergency diagnostic testing and lab work
• Life-saving FIP medication and treatment
• Follow-up veterinary care and monitoring
Angus is only two years old and has so much life left to live. If you can't donate, please consider sharing this link with your friends and family. Any amount, no matter how small, goes directly toward giving Angus a second chance at life.
