If you know Angie, you know her as a beautiful, incredibly positive, and graceful friend, someone who has always been dedicated to helping others, even while navigating some very profound personal challenges.
As many of you may or may not know, Angie lives with multiple chronic illnesses, enduring a staggering number of medical procedures along the way. Angie had her first 3 amputations in 2016. Due to complications with nerve tumors (neuromas), bone infection and death within the femur bone, and a complete detachment of the quadricep muscle from the femur, Angie has undergone 3 more subsequent amputations. The most recent amputation was early 2025, resulting in her 45th surgery. Each surgery was complex as they have each shortened her limb and restarted the painful cycle of healing and adaptation, leaving her with chronic pain and chronic fatigue.
Despite all of these obstacles, Angie has reached a major milestone and has received a prosthetic leg, a development that has given her great hope and the possibility of walking again. However, in order to truly walk again, Angie will need intensive physical therapy to learn how to use the prosthetic properly. Soon after receiving a prosthetic leg, Angie learned that her insurance will not cover the critical therapy she needs, with the therapist she trusts the most.
In addition to this setback, Angie faces other daily challenges that hinder her independence, including the need for a safe wheelchair and a home environment that presents constant dangers. There is currently no wheelchair ramp, and there are no bathroom railings to help prevent dangerous falls.
The GoFundMe is an opportunity to give back to Angie, someone who has selflessly given to others for so many years, despite her own chronic pain and health issues. Your generosity will help provide Angie with a new, safe wheelchair, the installation of a secure wheelchair ramp and bathroom railings, and the financial support she needs for the physical therapy required to regain her ability to walk again.
If you’re looking for a meaningful cause to support this holiday season, please consider donating to Angie’s health and well-being. Your contribution will help her achieve the independence and safety she deserves. Nothing is expected, but any contribution will be greatly appreciated..
