My name is Angelyn, and I am 53 years old. I have been living with congestive heart failure and osteoarthritis in my spine, which has made it impossible for me to work. My doctor has officially disabled me, and I have been unemployed for the past two and a half years. My work disability funds ran out in July 2025, and since then, I have been doing my best to make ends meet by working for DoorDash. Unfortunately, the income from DoorDash is not enough to cover my basic needs, especially my mortgage and electricity bills.

I am now facing the very real threat of foreclosure, and my electricity is scheduled to be cut off tomorrow. I use a space heater to keep warm, and with shelters always full in the winter, I am terrified of losing my home and being left in the cold. This house means so much to me—not just as a roof over my head, but as a place my mother and I bought together to provide stability for our family. Sadly, my mother passed away just two months after we purchased the home. In the five years I have lived here, I have already fought off foreclosure twice, but now I am out of options and time.
