Our family is facing a difficult season as my stepdad, Angel, prepares for a heart transplant. This is a life-saving procedure, and while we are incredibly grateful for the care he’s receiving, the road ahead is long and uncertain.

Angel will be hospitalized for two to three months, starting February 9th. During this time, my mom is required—by both the transplant team and insurance—to be present for most tests and procedures. This means extended time away from work, travel expenses, and many costs that aren’t fully covered by insurance. Angel has applied for disability and has been denied twice so far; we are currently appealing with the help of a lawyer, but that process takes time.

We created this fundraiser to help cover unexpected and uncovered medical expenses, lost wages, and the everyday costs that continue while our family focuses on Angel’s recovery.
