My name is Jeff Mouland and I'm located in St Johns Newfoundland. My heart is heavy as I write to you about a pressing situation impacting people very dear to me. My friend, Angella Norman’s family in Jamaica, is facing unbelievable hardship in the wake of Hurricane Melissa, which recently wreaked havoc across the island at a ferocity never before seen.
Hurricane Melissa unleashed a terrible force, leaving destruction in its wake. Angella’s family, which includes four separate families with young nieces and nephews, have been hit hard. Their homes have suffered severe damage, and they are in urgent need of assistance to get back on their feet.
The information is scarce coming from Jamaica as the communications are down however its reasonable to expected the following needs your donation will go towards.
Their Needs:
- Food & Essential Supplies: The families are in urgent need of food, clean water, clothing, and other basic necessities. Their resources have been depleted, and access to supplies is scarce and difficult.
- Home Repairs: The damage to their homes is extensive. Roofs have been blown away, walls have crumbled, and essential household items have been destroyed. Funds are needed for immediate repairs to ensure their safety and help them regain a sense of normalcy.
- Support for Children: The children have been particularly affected. They need school supplies, books, and means to continue their education amidst this chaos. Their lives have been dramatically altered, and restoring a bit of normalcy is crucial for their well-being.
- Medical and Health Supplies: Access to necessary medical supplies and healthcare services is urgently needed, as the disaster has also led to injuries and heightened the risk of illness.
