Help Angelina with her College Tuition
Hello everyone, my name is Angelina Garcia, I am 18 years old and I graduated from Monrovia High School with a grade point average of 3.93! I will be the first in my family to attend college and hope to pave the path for my siblings to do the same. I will be continuing my education at Chico State University this fall to major in anthropology to become a Forensic Anthropologist. I had applied for the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) which requires 2 letters of recommendation, I had asked my teachers to submit them for me. I completed the tasks that were asked of me by the EOP admissions and was declined due to one of my recommenders sending my recommendation letter through a website called Naviance that my high school uses. I am sharing my story in hopes that others will not go through the same problem I did. Since I was not accepted into the EOP program I would not receive assistance through mentorship, counseling, financial assistance and other student support services for those who are first generation college students and come from low income housing like myself. I have submitted my FAFSA, but it did not cover the entire cost of my tuition. With that being said I am hoping people can donate to cover the cost of my college tuition. I want to thank you all for taking the time to read my story in hopes that you will donate, anything will help!
