Help Angelina Thrive After Spinal Stroke Paralysis
Donation protected
Angelina has faced extraordinary challenges — and continues to rise above them with resilience, strength, and a spirit that inspires everyone who knows her.
After experiencing a severe brain, brainstem, and spinal stroke, it left her paralyzed from the shoulders down, leaving Angelina on a long road of rehabilitation. Through consistent therapy, she’s made tremendous progress — physically, emotionally, and mentally; though with significant price tags for travel, medical care, therapy, adaptive and medical equipment.
This year, as a freshman in high school, Angelina has grown in her self-identity and confidence. She’s found her voice, embraced who she is, and continues to dream. She’s been setting short-term and long-term goals — and already, she’s achieved many of them. From academic success to increasing strength toward mobility, every win increases her motivation to keep pushing forward. With each milestone reached, she adds new goals to her list — goals that reflect the strong, determined, and hopeful young woman she is becoming
In July, Angelina is scheduled to participate in Project Walk, an intensive recovery program specializing in paralysis recovery and rehabilitation. She will be attending this program 3 hours a day for two weeks where she will continue to regain strength, movement, and independence. It’s an incredible opportunity — but it comes at a cost.
Then, in August, she’ll attend Empower SCI Camp, a program for teens with spinal cord injuries. There, she’ll connect with peers who understand her journey, build friendships, and engage in adaptive activities that will empower her to continue to build in confidence, community, and joy — from accessible sports and recreation to life skills and empowerment sessions. The title, Empower, is most apporopirate. When Angelina had the privelage to attend for her first time last summer, the program transformed her mindset. It empowered her confidence, self identity, and grit toward identifying and achieving goals.
These back-to-back opportunities could be truly life-changing — but they come with a heavy financial burden.
Angelina is ready to take the next step in her journey — not just toward increasing independence and hopes toward more mobility, but toward living the full, empowered life she envisions for herself.
Unfortunately, insurance does not cover the cost of Project Walk or the related travel and lodging expenses. Empower SCI is also at a cost for her week in Rhode Island.
Your support will go directly toward:
- The cost of 30+ hours of intensive therapy
- Travel expenses to and from the facility
- Lodging for two weeks near the treatment center
- Camp fees and travel costs for Empower SCI Teen Camp
Every dollar brings Angelina one step closer to greater independence and mobility. Whether it’s $5 or $500, your generosity makes a real difference.
Let’s walk beside Angelina as she continues to defy the odds and embrace all that life has in store.
