Hi! My name is Angelina Appelbaum, I am a senior at Eisenhower High School in New Berlin, Wisconsin. This fall, I will be starting college at Penn State, University Park to study meteorology and atmospheric science—a dream I have worked incredibly hard to achieve. One of the greatest challenges I am facing is the financial burden of pursuing higher education. About a decade ago, my dad had a serious accident that changed our lives and created significant hardships; he had fallen off the ladder, 25 feet up in the air. Since then, he has had endless surgeries, lost his business, and has been in pain. Since then, my family has also had to rebuild and adapt while facing many other unexpected obstacles. In the wake of the accident, my half-siblings from my father’s first marriage have taken advantage of the situation by attempting to take control of our finances and family home, selling our home from under us. Through these experiences, my faith has become a source of strength and guidance. Prayer and trust in God have helped me remain hopeful and focused during difficult times. These challenges have not defined me, but they have shaped my resilience, perseverance, and determination to move forward. The funds raised will go directly to my tuition and education.
