Help Angelica Continue Her College Journey

My name is Angelica, I am a rising sophomore attending Meredith College studying theatre and psychology. I am considering becoming a drama therapist for children, but as much as I love Meredith, it is taking a toll on me financially as I pay my own way through college. I currently owe Meredith College $2,578 for last semester, which is preventing me from registering for the next semester and ultimately keeping my place at the college that has become my second home. I have reached out to Financial Assistance multiple times, and yet it is still becoming more difficult to imagine myself back there at the end of the summer. If I am unable to pay this by August 16th, when move in starts, I will have to withdraw from Meredith. I am doing everything I can to prevent this from happening, working 2 jobs, applying for scholarships, and now starting this GoFundMe!

Meredith has provided opportunities that I never could have imagined elsewhere. I've been able to grow as an actor and get involved in other aspects of theatre, costuming, and set design, which I wouldn’t get from just auditioning for roles. I have so much left to learn, and my professors want me to succeed and follow my passions, so much so that one of them has offered me a student worker position next year for more experience as well as a way to fund my education. I want nothing more than to go on and achieve great things and make my family proud, but this is my last opportunity to ensure that happens.

I have already had to step back from opportunities that I was really excited for because of this uncertainty. I am also supposed to serve as the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging representative for my class, but I am afraid that will also be another opportunity I have to let go of.

The reason my goal is $3,000 and not the amount previously stated is because I want to be able to pay tuition for the first month of next semester as well since I will be unable to keep one of the jobs I have had over the summer and I am paying for ghis myself. These funds will help me continue my education and expand my dreams, and it would mean the world to me to even get half the amount I need in such a short amount of time.
