On Thursday, July 9th, my mom’s trailer home was struck by a devastating fire that changed her life in an instant. A couple years ago, my mom lost her husband. Since then, she has lived on her own with the animals she loved dearly. Tragically, the fire claimed the lives of several of her beloved pets, leaving her not only with the damage to her home but also grieving companions who brought her comfort every single day. Thankfully, two of her dogs were rescued. Over the past several months, my mom has also been facing health challenges that have kept her temporarily out of work. Even through those struggles, she has continued to do her best. She has always lived modestly, making sure her bills were paid, food was on the table, gas was in her vehicle, and her animals were cared for. She has never been someone to ask for more than she needed. Now she is facing the overwhelming task of recovering from this fire while mourning the loss of the pets she loved so deeply. We’re creating this GoFundMe to help my mom begin putting the pieces of her life back together. Because she does not have insurance, she is facing these losses entirely on her own. Donations will help with immediate living expenses, replacing damaged belongings, and providing stability as she works toward recovery. As we find out more details about the extent of the damage and if anything can be salvaged, including the trailer itself, we will update the goal amount we would like to raise.
