My name is Angela, and I never imagined I’d be in a position where I’d need to ask for help. On December 29, 2025, my son Bryce became very sick. We were back and forth to the ER, and after several visits, he was finally diagnosed with severe pneumonia that had turned into necrotizing pneumonia, eating away at his right lung. Bryce has been in the PICU at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston for nearly three weeks now, and his condition is still very serious. He’s had to undergo multiple procedures, and the doctors are working hard to help him recover.
During this time, I’ve been on FMLA from work so I can be by Bryce’s side and care for my other children. Unfortunately, this means I haven’t been getting paid, and the bills are piling up. I’m worried about how I’ll pay our rent, keep the lights and water on, and make sure there’s food on the table for my kids. The stress of watching my child fight for his life, while also worrying about losing our home, has been overwhelming.
I really feel ashamed of even having to ask for help. But from the bottom of my heart I would be so grateful for any help through our family’s difficult time. Your support would take so much stress off of me and help us get through this incredibly hard chapter. Thank you for reading our story and for any kindness you can share.
