Help Angela Reed Fight Aggressive Recurrence of Lymphoma.

Our sister, Angela Reed, has an aggressive recurrence of Large B Cell Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Without treatment, the prognosis given was about 3 months. With aggressive treatment, there is a chance of remission (cure).

The treatment is equally aggressive and will be tough on her and her caregivers. These caregivers are Mike (husband), Kyle and Amanda (son & DIL), Amy and Kathleen (sisters).

Chemo will begin next week. Tuesday, 6 hours, Wednesday, 4 hours, Thursday 1 hour. This will be repeated every 21 days for 6 cycles OR until she can begin CAR T Therapy.

The doctors believe that Angela is a good candidate for CAR T therapy. She has an appointment to be evaluated for this option on Sept 9 in Augusta. If this path works out, it will take place in Augusta. They will send her blood off to a lab where it will be used to create a treatment and then sent back to be infused back into her with the cancer-fighting components. Once the infusion is done, she will remain in the hospital in Augusta for 4 to 6 weeks. This process will be physically, emotionally, and financially draining. While we are all prayerfully optimistic, there is certainly no guarantee that this treatment will be successful. Angela said to let everyone know that she would love to see friends and family as much as possible before she begins the aggressive treatment. Visits will be more limited once she starts CAR T, as her immune system will be suppressed as part of the process. Battling through this suppression will also be a significant prayer request.
