Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out on behalf of my beautiful and beloved niece, Angela Penner, who became critically ill earlier this year and has been in intensive care since August 3, 2025. Her health crisis began with an undiagnosed thyroid condition that triggered acute pancreatitis, which then led to multiple medical emergencies. Angela’s life has hung in the balance many times.
Since then, she has endured multiple urgent major surgeries, including six abdominal surgeries, parathyroid removal, and a tracheotomy. She has also experienced renal failure requiring dialysis at times. Pancreatitis is unpredictable, and Angela has faced moments of progress followed by sudden setbacks.
Her doctors are hopeful about her long-term prognosis, but they have made it clear that her recovery will be very long, very slow, and incredibly challenging. She has been in ICU since August and will remain in the hospital for months at least. Doctors have stated Angela will not be able to return to work for at least a year.
Sadly, Angela’s employer did not offer long-term disability, leaving her without income during her extended hospital stay. Her ongoing monthly expenses cannot be paused, even though she has been hospitalized for months, and because Angela is solely responsible for all of her personal bills, the financial strain has become overwhelming. Her family has uprooted their routines to be by her side every day, taking shifts to support her through this critical time, and this has brought unexpected expenses as well.
We are asking for support to help Angela with her essential financial obligations and to assist her family with daily costs such as parking, gas, and food while they take shifts to be at her bedside. Any amount truly helps and makes a meaningful difference. If you have questions regarding donations, please email the organizer directly for more information.
Your generosity will allow Angela to stabilize financially so she can focus completely on what matters most: healing and rebuilding her life.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, prayers, and support during this incredibly difficult journey.
