Help Angela Bryan Heal From Cancer
Hello everyone!
Thank you for taking the time to read our GoFundMe campaign, and consider donating.
My name is Mike Bryan, and I'd like to introduce you to my wife, Angela Bryan. My sweet angel from heaven.
As some of you that know us may know, Angela got ovarian cancer back in July 2018. If you know her and know how much she serves others, takes such good care of her family, and is truly as beautiful and sweet as she looks inside and out, it was heartbreaking to all of us who know her so well and love her so much. Because her life was in danger at the time, we decided that it was best to do a full hysterectomy to quickly remove the huge tumor on her right ovary that was literally sucking the life out of her. Then, although her oncologist wanted her to immediately start chemotherapy, she elected not to do chemotherapy or radiation, due to the many health dangers and side effects. Instead we learned about other healthy ways to treat cancer and strengthen her immune system, and started doing some holistic IV therapy treatments, colon-hydrotherapy, electro-lymphatic therapy, and several other holistic treatments. After about 2 years, however, the cancer spread to her lungs by November 2020. She got very sick again, was unable to breathe, and went to the hospital. They didn't give us much hope that Angela would survive. We chose not to accept the doctor's prognosis, did some quick research, and found CHIPSA Hospital in Tijuana, Mexico, a holistic cancer treatment center. Through God's divine intervention, we spoke to the owner of CHIPSA on Thanksgiving Day 2020, our kids helped us quickly raise some money to get us there since we do not have the means to pay for treatment for Angela here or in any other country. THE TOTAL COST FOR THE INITIAL 3-WEEKS OF TREATMENT AT CHIPSA was $36,427. One of our donors gave the majority of that amount, and actually took care of the wiring of the funds to CHIPSA for us. That took so much strain off of us, to just rest and know that we could get Angela the help she needed quickly! We then went to CHIPSA Hospital, arriving just one week after Thanksgiving on December 3rd, our 32nd anniversary. We ended up being there for the months of December 2020 and January 2021. Much longer than we planned.
Because Angela did NOT do chemotherapy, the doctors told us her body and her immune system were strong, although her lungs were very weak. She had several tumors in both lungs, with one on her windpipe - the one that was causing her the most trouble, we think. She was able to respond beautifully to all the aggressive holistic therapies and treatments at CHIPSA. In fact, many of the treatments they use there are not available anywhere else in the world. There are doctors and scientists from all over the world who have come together to bring the latest cutting-edge treatments and ideas to CHIPSA. A tumor board team meets every week to discuss the ways they can better help every patient. We knew we were in good hands, and are confident that's why God led us to CHIPSA. Angela got better quickly, and after a couple of weeks she was off of oxygen and was able to stop the breathing treatments she required just to breathe. We believe being at CHIPSA saved Angela's life, and we are so grateful to God and the wonderful staff at CHIPSA for giving her her life back.
At the time of our initial fundraising attempts, we did not reach our goal on GoFundMe. There are still many unpaid bills for the past 2 1/2 years. (Partial list below) Some of them have gone to collections, and they are not very understanding about our financial situation. I even started having health issues with my heart just as we were getting back from Mexico, and I have been unable to work like I was before. This has also caused a lot of financial strain. And now it looks like I may be losing my job, due to my inability physically to work under the same stress I was under before.
And so we are asking for donations again. Any amount you can give will help, no matter how small.
Now it is time for Angela to go back to CHIPSA for her 3-month follow-up treatments and check-up with her doctors. HER LUNGS ARE CLEAR - thank you, Jesus! There are still 3 tumors in her abdomen and pelvic area. And she has started having some sharp shooting pain in her left side that was not there when we left CHIPSA in January. She has also started having a little bleeding in the past couple of weeks. Of course we are very concerned. We are fighting and praying for complete healing, so we don't have to keep going down this road. We are asking you to pray and agree with us for Angela's healing, and for God's provision for our finances. I missed 7 weeks of work when we were there before, and I will be missing at least 2 weeks of work this time. It is a critical time in our lives, just getting Angela the emergency help she needs.
WE ARE LEAVING TO GO BACK TO CHIPSA ON MAY 2ND, 2021. WE'LL BE THERE 2 WEEKS.
AND WE ARE IN NEED OF FINANCIAL HELP WITHIN THE NEXT 2-4 WEEKS.
Thank you so much for any amount you can donate. Just click the big DONATE button, enter any amount, and you will bless us more than you can know!
*****There is a lot more to our story*****
Keep reading the rest of our campaign below if you'd like to know more of the details. I explain all our MIRACLES God performed in our lives. It is a very long and involved story about how we got to CHIPSA, and how God provided for us, but suffice it to say, it was exactly where God wanted us to be. We have no doubt about that.
NOW THE LONG STORY SECTION
Our 4 children - Ben, Katelin, Isaac and Luke - helped us raise money to get to CHIPSA initially, but we didn't reach our fundraising goal at
that time. We raised enough money to get us there and help with living expenses for a few weeks while we were gone. But I ended up
having some health issues with my heart once we got back, and that has prevented me from working as much as I was before. Since I'm the sole provider, our finances, living expenses, and medical bills have begun to fall behind.
Now it is time for us to go back to CHIPSA again - to continue Angela's treatment, do her 3 month checkup and boosters, and have her be reassessed by her CHIPSA doctors. As described above, she is having new symptoms that we are very concerned about. So we need to get her there quickly. I will be missing more than 2 weeks of work this time, so that means there will be no income during that time. We are trusting God for miraculous provision. And we are also continuing to need funds for remaining medical expenses from all our medical bills we've had for the past 2 1/2 years since Angela's full hysterectomy. These have still never gotten paid. We do not have medical insurance, so these costs have added up significantly.
This list will give you a brief partial itemization of what we are facing, and does not include our normal living expenses:
THESE COSTS ARE ROUNDED
Surgery for ovarian cancer (full hysterectomy) in August 2018
$28,000
Hospital stay for ovarian cancer surgery
$31,000
Hospital stay for lung cancer
$14,000
Oncologist office visits
$3100
CT scans and PET scans
$4500 (one PET scan was paid for - $1000 - but no CT scans)
Lab work/Blood work
$4200 (some of these were paid for at the time of blood draw)
Numerous non-chemotherapy treatments after surgery
$21,000 (these were already paid for at time of their treatment)
Just making a $100 donation will allow us to chip away at these bills. Of course, if you are able to make a larger donation, or even cover one of these bills entirely, or help us with our living expenses in any amount, we would be so enormously blessed. Thank you! We are grateful for any amount. So, no amount is too small.
HOW IT ALL STARTED
Angela had ovarian cancer back in 2018. Through several steps of seeing a gynecologist due to some female pain and bleeding, getting an ultrasound that showed a massive tumor on her right ovary, she subsequently had a full hysterectomy. Her abdomen got so big with ascites fluid that she looked 8 months pregnant. She was also wasting away, losing her strength, and we believe she would not have lasted much longer without her oncologist getting that tumor out of her. After the full hysterectomy to remove the tumor and affected lymph nodes, she elected NOT to do chemotherapy, had numerous holistic treatments over the couple of years following - we think some worked and some probably didn’t. Her tumor marker number (CA-125) was gradually going up, and then we found out the cancer had metastasized to her lungs in November 2020. She started having trouble breathing, was hospitalized and sent home.
Her life was in danger again.
The pulmonologist at the hospital suggested palliative chemotherapy. We chose not to accept what he and the doctors at the hospital were telling us about her prognosis. We prayed, did some fast research, and we believe God led us to CHIPSA Hospital.
THE FIRST MIRACLE
We spoke to the owner of CHIPSA on Thanksgiving Day, and one week later (on December 3rd, our 32nd anniversary), we arrived at CHIPSA. It was a miracle that it all happened so fast. Our children helped us raise money for the 3-week hospital stay and living expenses (because I was going to miss so much work and income), we used our credit card points to pay for the travel to get there, and through God’s miraculous provision, all other expenses were covered. One of our donors who loves us so much, took care of the majority of the cost and wired the total amount of money to CHIPSA for us, so that we could get there quickly. Even though we still didn't reach our goal for all our medical bills and living expenses for the time I missed work, our regular bills for those 7 weeks, and our trip to CHIPSA was covered.
Our God is so faithful to His children!
THE SECOND MIRACLE
We were only planning to be there for 3 weeks, but our stay got extended for 4 additional weeks...7 weeks total. This was actually because Angela was doing so well and making such amazing progress with the tumors being healed from the aggressive holistic treatments, her hard work, and the work of the Lord in her. You may wonder how much this cost us to have an additional 4 weeks of daily treatments, all our organic food and hospital stay for both of us, and the best medical care you can imagine. How was this unplanned part of our stay paid for? God used the extraordinary generosity of one man, who wants to remain anonymous, to completely cover our additional 4-weeks’ CHIPSA hospital bill for us. This was more than just a blessing from the Lord. It was His miraculous provision.
GREAT is His faithfulness to those who love Him.
We speak and pray blessings and abundant prosperity over that precious man, and the many other friends and family, who have already donated sacrificially (small and large amounts) to help pay for Angela’s treatments and our living expenses while we were gone to Mexico the first time.
Our entire fundraising goal was not reached. So we are asking you to consider donating now.
We sincerely believe God saved Angela’s life at CHIPSA. What a sweet and precious life it is.
THE THIRD MIRACLE
Because she was so sick when we got there, and because she made such a dramatic turnaround in the first few weeks we were there, and since she has only gotten better and better since we’ve been home following their strict protocols, Angela's CA-125 tumor marker was 12.5 a couple of weeks ago!! THAT IS HUGE PROGRESS!!! The normal range for the CA-125 ovarian cancer tumor marker is 0-35. This number was 343 at the time of her full hysterectomy, then 312.8 when we got to CHIPSA the first time, went down to 35.9 after all the holistic treatments at CHIPSA, and after we got home following their strict Gerson organic diet protocol, 6-7 organic juices a day, 3 organic coffee enemas a day, God blessed Angela's hard work and she was able to get that CA-125 tumor marker down to 12.5!! What a miracle from the Lord that is.
WAY TO GO, God...and WAY TO GO, sweet wife!
THE FOURTH MIRACLE
It is now time for us to go back to CHIPSA for Angela’s 3-month check up and follow up treatments. The doctors at CHIPSA asked us to get a CT scan of Angela's lungs to make a decision about how urgent it is for her to come back for more treatments. So we saw Angela’s oncologist a few weeks ago for her to visit with us, examine her, and then order an updated CT scan. She had this on April 7th. And guess what...
HER LUNGS ARE COMPLETELY CLEAR!!!
The fact that her lungs are clear, is our FOURTH MIRACLE! Even though she still has 3 tumors in her abdomen and pelvic area that need treatment, we believe if they are the tumors she had before, that they are possibly smaller than they were when she had her PET scan in January. WE CAN TELL ALL THE TREATMENTS ARE WORKING, for sure. So we know we are going in the right direction. We will get those specific updates once we get back to CHIPSA.
One problem with her current symptoms, is that she has been having NEW sharp, shooting pain on the left side of her abdomen, and there was not a tumor on that side before on the PET scan in January. We are concerned about that possibly being a new growth, and we want to get to CHIPSA as soon as possible for her to get treatment for that.
Please join us in prayer about these last 3 tumors. We want them all gone, in Jesus' name!
OUR NEXT STEP
We fly out on May 2nd, and will be at CHIPSA one to two weeks. They have reserved 2 weeks in the hospital for us, but we’ll find out exactly how long we’ll be there once we arrive and Angela's doctors examine her and review all her new scans and reports. They are even giving us the very same room we had when we were there before. One of the workers at CHIPSA, Olga, had decorated our room for us for our anniversary, since it was our 32nd anniversary when we arrived. And we felt so loved by her and the whole staff. Thank you, Olga - we will never forget what you and the rest of the staff did to make us feel so welcome and at home.
CHIPSA is like our home away from home.
Angela will get daily IV treatments, like before, eat an all-organic Gerson diet like at home, drink 6-7 organic juices a day, do 3 coffee enemas a day, and get a LOT of rest. Just like she is doing at home. She is used to doing all this by herself at home in her kitchen, so having CHIPSA do it for her will be so peaceful and restful and healing.
NOW FOR OUR FIFTH MIRACLE
This very same profoundly generous man is covering our hospital stay when we go back to CHIPSA. I know, it just seems impossible...and it is. But not impossible with Father God. There is just literally no financial possibility of us paying for another hospital stay in Mexico, if this man wasn’t paying for it. It’s just God’s “miraculous provision”. He’s working in the heart of this man to help us, even though we haven’t done anything to deserve it or earn it. We have prayed for that very thing - miraculous provision - in this whole situation, with Angela being so sick and us not having health insurance, or the means to just pay out of our pocket for all this care. Our medical expenses have just been out of sight. But because these CHIPSA hospital expenses are being paid for for us, we are able to focus on and raise money for the everyday living expenses and all our other previous medical bills.
And this is where we need your help.
THE LAST MIRACLE
The last miracle has yet to happen, even though we are trusting God that it will. He has been so faithful to us, and we have no doubt He will continue.
Because of my health issues when we got back from Mexico in January, and my limited ability to work since, and the time I will be missing from work again while we’re gone this time, we are moving into a time where even our living expenses will start falling behind. We want to avoid that if possible, of course. And we still have all the medical expenses from the past 2 1/2 years that I listed above, that have yet to be paid. The bills are still pouring in, some have been turned over to collections. And we are just unable to pay them. So we are again expressing our need for family and friends to help, if you are able.
Please know. It is extremely difficult for us to ask for help financially. It is just not in our nature. But we have been encouraged by our friends to do this new GoFundMe and make our needs known and trust God for the outcome.
We are continuing to trust Him for the same MIRACULOUS PROVISION!
We are asking for you all to be praying for Angela and I as we go back to CHIPSA Hospital. We leave on May 2nd and will be there for 2 weeks. We are believing for miraculous provision for the finances we need, complete healing in Angela’s whole body, NO TUMORS, no spots, no shadows, no pain, no bleeding, NOTHING. Cancer is dead, in Jesus’ name. We want it completely gone out of her body, never to return! Amen & Amen.
God bless you...please know we love you and appreciate you all very much❤️
