Help Dave and Angela in Their Battle

Hi everyone,

My name is Kari, and along with our friend Sheri, are organizing this on behalf of our dear friends Angela and Dave. Our goal is to support two of our oldest and most treasured friends—people who feel more like family. Angela, Sheri, and I all met years ago while working on our nursing prerequisites at College of the Redwoods in Eureka. We formed a close-knit bond that’s only grown stronger over time. A few years into our friendship, Angela met Dave. It wasn’t love at first sight, but it didn’t take long for them to realize they were meant to be together. From that moment, their journey as a couple began.

Dave and Angela eventually left Humboldt County and started a new chapter in Prescott, AZ, where they’ve built a beautiful life together. Over the years, life has had its ups and downs, but one thing has always remained: they’ve faced it all side by side. Dave has worked tirelessly to establish a successful real estate business, earning a reputation as a caring, reliable person who always puts his clients first. When he's not working, you’ll often find him and Angela exploring the stunning landscapes of Arizona, making the most of their beautiful surroundings. And, of course, there's Dave’s other passion—disc golf. He’s been playing for years and is still as dedicated to the game as ever.

Together, Dave and Angela have raised two incredible kids, Liam and Maya, who are now adults living in Flagstaff, pursuing their own careers and studies. Though the kids are several hours away, they are a constant source of support for their parents, and knowing they can be with them during this time would mean the world.

Just recently, life took an unexpected and heartbreaking turn. Dave started feeling unwell, and after tests and doctor visits, he was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. This is the same aggressive form of leukemia that I lost my brother to, and the same that Sheri lost her father to. We know all too well the emotional and financial toll that cancer brings, and our hearts break knowing what Angela and Dave are facing.

Now, more than ever, they need our help. The road ahead is daunting, and the financial burden of treatment is overwhelming. The funds we raise will go directly toward covering medical expenses, travel costs (as Dave’s treatment requires trips to a facility about two hours from their home), lodging, and other essential needs during this incredibly difficult time.

We know that many of you are eager to help, but sometimes it's hard to know how. Sharing this page and spreading the word is a simple yet powerful way you can make a difference. Every little bit helps, whether it’s a donation or just getting the word out to others who may want to contribute.

Update: hi everyone. Dave is in ScottsdaleAz, being treated at The Mayo Clinic Medical Center. Since being admitted, Dave has been poked and prodded and been thru a few lumbar punctured and has also started chemo. Dave has had some pretty

nasty side effects from the chemo but he continues to battle forward with the goal of getting this Leukemia into remission. As you can imagine this has taken a toll both physically and emotionally on Dave and his family and it would be wonderful if we can continue to support them thru the GoFundMe, check-in’s, sending positive energy, prayers, thoughts to the universe, and of course cards and well wishes. The timeline for treatment still remains unclear however Dave and Angela are hopeful that Dave will be able to get home before too long where he will then be able to seek further treatment as an outpatient. Angela is doing a great deal of driving back and forth and spending nights in hotels so being able to get home quickly would be a huge blessing for both them and the kids.
