Help Angel Through Recovery

On Friday, February 5th, Angel was experiencing severe pain in her abdominal area. She asked her husband George to take her to the hospital which was alarming in and of itself. Angel isn't one mess with doctors so this was extremely alarming. After seeing the doctor in the ER and being given the diagnosis of a ruptured ovarian cyst, she was told to return home and wait it out as the pain would subside. They were told that nothing could be done and she would have to deal with the pain until it went away. That following Sunday, the pain had not subsided. Furthermore, Angel's tongue had gone numb and her vision was fading. Knowing this was not a good sign, George once again rushed her to the ER. After taking another look at her CT scan, the doctors realized that there was never a cyst at all and that she actually had a perforated ulcer which had been leaking air into her body and causing the pain. At this point, the pain had become severe and her liver and kidneys had failed. Due to weather, the hospital was unable to fly her to Greeley and preformed a surgery on the ulcer to get her stable. On Tuesday February 8th, she was transported to Greeley with a combination of ambulance, plane, and helicopter. She was put on a ventilator and multiple IV's just to be kept alive and finally was able to breath on her own by Thursday. She has had to undergo dialysis three times so far and is still not taking deep enough breaths for the doctors to feel comfortable taking the breathing tube out. Doctors have also had to use a needle to drain fluid build-up around her lungs and she seems to be slowly getting better. She and her husband feel scared and helpless. Angel and George are strong and amazing people and nothing can get in the way of their love. George has been by her side as much as the hospital allows and both have been out of work from the start. It's always hard asking for help and it's never easy accepting you need it. Even when Angel is released, George will need to be off work to care for her and the bills are already piling up. At this point, doctors are estimating 30-60 days in the hospital alone. We all know this is a huge ask and he is doing everything he can just to keep it together. I'm asking everyone who knows Angel and George to do what they can. We can't know for sure the actual cost and George is exhausting every resource to supplement the cost but hasn't heard back on anything yet. The amount needed may increase or decrease but we do know for sure that the bills don't stop just because the income has. Thank you to those who took the time to read our plea and to those able and willing to help. It means the world to them and everyone in their lives.
