In Loving Memory of Stevie “Wayne” Richards
A Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Friend
Victim of the San Antonio Flood Tragedy – June 2025
On the morning of the devastating flash floods that struck San Antonio, Texas, our beloved Stevie “Wayne” Richards was one of the 13 lives tragically lost. The floods, caused by over 7 inches of rainfall in a short time, overwhelmed the city’s roads and swept away vehicles with heartbreaking force.
Stevie’s final moments were spent on the phone with his wife, Angel Richards, his best friend and soulmate of nearly 20 years. As the waters rose around him, Angel stayed on the line helplessly hearing his final words before the call was lost as he was swept away in the rushing waters. His body was found a day and a half later.
Wayne was a deeply devoted family man, a husband, father of three, and proud grandfather of four. His laughter, wisdom, and unwavering love for Angel and his family defined who he was. He was the kind of man who showed up. For holidays, for hard days, for everything in between.
This sudden loss has shattered our hearts, and my sister Angel is now left to navigate the unimaginable grieving of her husband while managing the financial weight of funeral expenses and planning along with the long road of healing ahead.
We’re asking for your support to help Angel:
- Cover funeral and memorial expenses
- Support grief and trauma counseling
- Offset the sudden financial burden as she adjusts to life without her husband
No donation is too small. Every share, prayer, and contribution makes a difference. On behalf of Angel and our entire family, we thank you for wrapping your arms around us in this time of deep sorrow. Your love is helping us carry what feels too heavy to bear alone.
Rest in peace, Stevie “Wayne” Richards. Your love lives on.
With gratitude,
Her loving family
