Hi everyone, my name is Angel, and this is one of the hardest things I’ve had to ask for — but I’m learning that recovery isn’t just about staying clean, it’s also about learning to reach out when I truly need help. I’ve been giving everything I have to stay committed to my recovery: showing up to my meetings, being of service, keeping myself grounded, and fighting every day to be the best version of myself. My car has been a lifeline through all of this. It’s how I get to my support meetings, to work, and to the people who hold me accountable and keep me strong.

A few days ago, everything came crashing down when my car broke down out of nowhere. The repairs are far more than I can afford right now. I do have a job and I’m doing my best, but the cost is simply beyond what I can manage. This setback has hit me hard, emotionally and financially. I’m scared of losing the momentum I’ve worked so hard to build. Without my car, getting to my meetings and the places that have helped save my life becomes almost impossible. I’ve been trying so hard to rebuild myself piece by piece, and I don’t want this obstacle to pull me backwards.
