HELP Angel Perez overcome his medical expenses and bills

Hey reader, my name is Angel Perez and it's actually God's miracle that I am alive here today writing this story. Several police officers did not think I would survive to the hospital and the hospital itself questioned my survivability. So today, I am writing this story about my life and my setbacks while asking for your help.

On March 6th of 2023, I had a horrible motorcycle accident when I was entering the I75 to go to work after my 21st birthday weekend. My truck was at Tire Plus on 34th ST getting a new transmission put in, so I was forced to take my motorcycle, a 2022 Yamaha MT-07. At the time, I was an electrician working for Preston Link Electric in Gainesville, Florida. I ended up here in Gainesville with my parents after I graduated high school in 2020 and was subsequently denied from the military for having type 1 diabetes. Sadly, the morning of March 6, 2023, would be the start to a much harder life than just being a diabetic.

At the hospital (UF Health Shands Hospital), a total of 14 surgeries were operated to save my life. Sadly, none of these surgeries could bring back any function to my right arm. After about 2 - 3 months in the hospital system of being transported to different hospitals (some a part of UF Health, others contracted through UF Health), I was finally able to walk, talk, comprehend, and most importantly, write and use my left hand and arm. Be it with one less finger, in just two and a half months, I was able to go from a righty to a lefty.

Fast forward to March of 2024 and it was the 1-year anniversary of the day that changed my life. I was finally able to find somebody willing to hire me with my condition (CVS Pharmacy). I had been through 50 or so interviews, most asking me the same question about my condition where I would uphold my certainty that I could perform at the levels of others, but no one was willing to take a risk when there are 100% able-bodied people who could run circles around me and then some.

Simply put, when I was working as an electrician, I would use much of my wealth to help my family and my friends so much, so I came into a false sense of security. My father can't work because he almost passed of a heart attack in 2016 (due to an underlying heart condition) and ever since every other year he has a close call. So as his only son, I took it on myself to be an electrician, get paid to work and paid to go to school, and help with any bills or gas or food anything I could as simple payback for all the years growing up that both my mother and father sacrificed for both me and my sister. Sadly, now I can't do that yet I'm hoping to get on SSDI (Social Security Disability Income) so I can qualify to go to school and get a higher education so I can later on get a better high paying job where I use my mind and not my body to provide the retirement for my parents they deserve and help others the same way I am asking you to help me today.

I only ask for your help now in paying off some of my debts and helping get me through these next few months (loans, medical bills, insurance costs, utility bills, medicines, and treatments) getting my life back on track so I can be less in debt and have more of a shot at helping others once again.

These times are tough, truthfully, I understand that rents are high, the cost of food and other simple life necessities are high. I don't expect much to come of this but truthfully every little bit helps, and I truly am grateful to anyone who helps and to also still being alive today. I truly believe I would have perished on that day if not for the bystanders who helped and the women and men of the hospital and EMS teams that did their best to get me here today. Thank you to them and thank you to you for any and all donations.
