Background:
Angel Harper is a 46-year-old woman who happens to be a loving wife and mother of three. Angel has battled cancer before, once at 15 years old and again at 17 years old, However, she did not let that stop her. Angel went on to earn her bachelor's degree at the University of Houston and established a non-profit organization that was created to help orphans and widows in need. Angel has been described as the rock of her family always there to lend support, wisdom, and bring laughter and peace among those she loves.
Dilemma:
Angel is currently battling her third-round of cancer and is in desperate need of financial assistance. Angel has undergone 17 chemotherapy treatments since the recent return of cancer and although the treatments have stabilized the growth of her tumors it has not been successful in shrinking her tumors. With the direction of her physician, the physical discomfort of chemotherapy treatments, it was then when Angel decided to seek alternative treatment. However, such treatment facilities require a substantial amount of monetary funds in order to be treated on.
Sentiments from Angel and her family:
Angel: "I want to live. I want to live long enough to see my children finish college and create the lives they want to live. I want to live long enough to complete my dream of writing a book, owning a restaurant, and fighting for the Lord's kingdom. I want to live long enough to see my first niece and spoil her with all the wisdom and joy that comes from an aunt. I want to live. I need to live. With your help and with God's grace, I know that I can."
Husband: "I love my Angel. I hope she realizes how much I need and value her in my life. Finding out that my wife has cancer for the third time was difficult, I couldn't even begin to imagine all the feelings and emotions she was having. I tried my hardest to protect her heart from the many doubts and worries that were to come and be the support she needed, but it was hard, because I was battling my own emotions about the situation. At age 18 my mother was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and died that same year. A year later at age 19, my stepfather died from a liver disease. This was a dark time in my life and one that I don't think will ever not be a part of me. I hope my children will never have to experience the loss of their mother at such a formidable age. Whatever you can donate, please do, my family and I need our 'rock'. "
Daughters and Son: "We need our mom. We love her dearly and can't fathom life without her. She's our rock, and our best friend. She's our biggest supporter, we draw strength from her, and we are so blessed to call her our mom. We hate to see her in so much pain and in so much fear for her life. We pray every day for her healing, but "Faith without works is dead". So, we ask that you donate all that you can so that we don't have to face a world without our mother."
