Help Angel Get Back on the Road After a Car Wreck and Canceled Tour

Hi everyone, I’m Arlene, Angel’s sister, and I’m organizing this fundraiser with Twig on Angel's behalf.

On July 25, Angel’s partner, Twig, and their dear friends from the band Horse Lords were on their way to a gig on the west side of LA in Angel’s car when another vehicle hit them hard. Thankfully, everyone walked away, but Angel’s car was totaled.

The insurance payout was small and nowhere near enough to replace the car. Since then, Angel has spent months looking for something dependable and affordable, but hasn’t found the right option yet.

Angel is a full-time student on scholarship and musician. They commute across LA four days a week, spending about three hours on the road going back and forth to UCLA. Getting around LA without a car is incredibly difficult, especially when they need to transport instruments and gear etc. A dependable car would make it much easier to manage both the commute to class and their work as a musician.

While touring in Europe this year, Angel suffered a back injury and had to cancel four shows. That meant losing about $2,500 in income—money they had planned to put toward a car before school starts again in January 2027.

How the money will help:

Angel has about $5,000 to put toward a car, and we’re hoping to raise $8,000 to help with the purchase and cover additional expenses. With taxes, DMV fees, and a necessary warranty, the total cost of a dependable used car is estimated at about $18,000. Angel plans to finance the remaining balance.

Any amount helps, and sharing this fundraiser helps too! We’ll post updates as things progress so everyone can see how the support is helping Angel get back on the road.

Thank you for reading, sharing, and showing up for Angel. We’re so grateful to be part of this close-knit community of friends and musicians. Your support means the world to all of us.
