Yesterday was a miracle day! Angela Demit survived a serious Carbon Monoxide poisoning.

How, well she was trying to sleep in her car. Sometimes in the Yukon this happens, people catch a few hours sleep in their vehicles.

Unfortunately her vehicle has some major exhaust issues. Remarkably, the RCMP were notified and found Angela Unresponsive. They called to have the ambulance take her to the hospital. The toxicology stated she had carbon monoxide in her system. She doesn't smoke or do any substances as many know she is a well respected Elder and matriarch of her family. The levels were severe and she is so lucky to return from this near death experience. Spending over 24 hours on high levels of oxygen at the hospital to clear the carbon monoxide from her system.

The Doctor has ordered that she is not to drive that vehicle home, which is 6 hours away from the hospital till it is fixed. After some assessments, her family has noted this vehicle has over 400K kilometers on it, and is so far in need of repairs it might be time for a new vehicle that is safer for her.

When the family picked up the car to relocate it, it was so toxic they had to roll windows completely down just to drive it in town. A miracle she is alive.

With the Dr.s direction, we have to find something safer for her to travel with.

a month ago, her dog cost her $1500 to have an eye removed & then she also has had a recent loss of her daughter in-law.

With all of this she has no extra funds at all to fix a broken down car or even buy a new one. As a young Elder, who has been through 3 big events in a short month span that have cost a lot of money combined we are seeking to raise funds to help her buy a new used vehicle. She lives in a remote Yukon community that has limited groceries and medical services that will require her to travel back and forth.
