It is with great sadness that we received the news today that their beautiful home has been completely destroyed by the fires that have ravaged Kangaroo Island.

This is obviously devastating news for them, and for all of us who know and love them, and who have been privileged enough to have spent time in this special place that they called home.


This is a house that meant so much to them, a house they built themselves, where they raised their amazing daughter Lizi, where they poured every ounce of their hearts and souls, and where many of us have spent countless blissful hours soaking up the bush ambience and enjoying their famous hospitality. Heartbreakingly it is now gone...


We realise that they are one of thousands of families reeling in the horror of the recent bushfires, and that many of you will have already donated to various bushfire fund raising efforts. However, Angela, Steve and Lizi are our family, and we know how much they mean to so many people, so we’d like to create an opportunity for as many people as possible to assist them directly in getting through the next few weeks. 

 We’re trying to raise $10,000 to begin with. We’re hoping this money will help them with accommodation, food, clothing, transport or whatever they feel is necessary to make life a little bit easier over the coming weeks.
