We are Anemos, a passionate group of students from UC Santa Barbara who share a deep love for Greek dance and the cultural traditions it celebrates. This year, we are proud to once again participate in the annual Folk Dance Festival (FDF) — an incredible event that brings together Hellenic youth from across the country to honor and showcase the richness of our heritage through dance and music.
As we prepare for this unforgettable experience, we’re reaching out to ask for your support. Your donations will help cover essential expenses, including:
- Workshops & Training: With your help, we’ll be able to learn from expert instructors and researchers who guide us in accurately presenting the regions and traditions we perform.
- Live Musicians: We are committed to dancing to live traditional Greek music, and your contributions will help us bring talented musicians to accompany us on stage.
- Authentic Costumes: Regional Greek dance is deeply tied to its visual identity. Your support allows us to acquire and maintain traditional costumes that reflect the areas we are representing — an essential part of both performance and scoring.
