Help Andy Shepherd Find Relief from Chronic Pain

Dear Friends and Supporters,

I am reaching out to you all as I am currently battling severe chronic pain. Over the past four years, I have bravely undergone three major spinal surgeries, resulting in extensive spinal fixation and bone grafts. These were undertaken in the UAE.

Unfortunately, a recent fall has exacerbated my condition, leading to long-term chronic pain that conventional treatments have been unable to adequately alleviate.

My journey has been further complicated by past trauma, including my arrest and detention in Libya in 2011, which has significantly impacted my mental health. I have been struggling with severe depression, suicidal thoughts, and a profound sense of diminished self-worth as a result, of Libya and the continued chronic pain.

Currently, my treatment options are limited to pharmacological support, which provides minimal relief. I have found some respite through cold water therapies, offering short to intermediate relief, and the Healy device, a specialised micro-frequency tool designed to alleviate pain amongst other things.

Due to my condition, I have struggled to work effectively, further compounding my financial challenges. Therefore, I am launching this GoFundMe campaign with the goal of raising GBP 10,500.

These funds will enable me to pursue alternative therapies that promise longer-lasting pain relief and improve my overall quality of life.
