Hi Everyone

Andy Parnell has been a big part of the Western Australia/Perth Film Community for a very long time now, you could call him a veteran. He works professionally in the field of Sound and has given up his time regularly to help up and coming filmmakers on their productions and mentoring upcoming soundies. He has a big heart and genuinely cares about people.

Unfortunately a devastating fire burnt down Andy's house this week and they lost everything. Andy has a family, which includes two young children and they are his main priority. Everyone luckily is safe.

Rebuilding his sound equipment kit is extremely expensive and is not something that he will be able to do now, or in the future, and he is looking at having to give up the gig. That is something we don't want to see happen, he has worked too hard to get where he is.

Andy's Sound and computer equipment is usually covered by insurance, however due to Covid, and the fact that he was unable to work in sound over that time, he let it lapse to save money. I am sure many of you can relate to that? It took Andy many years to build up his sound kit to have the very best for his job. Unfortunately the house insurance will not cover this equipment. It will cost about $50,000 to replace all his sound equipment and programs.

There is nothing that can explain the feeling of loss, and the stress of having to start all over again after a fire. Andy has done so much for the Perth Film Community and his part in creating amazing films/content that entertain us all. I am hoping the Perth Film Community, and those that love film, will come together and help Andy, by donating what you can or spreading the word to others who may be able to help. Help us bring a little joy and hope, back to Andy for the future and that his talents and contribution to WA Screen continues.

We just want to get Andy back on his feet, so if we can get to $15,000; Andy can get back to work with what he loves and contribute to great Western Australian Stories.
