Help Andy Hinton Rebuild After Hurricane Helene

My brother, Andy Hinton, is one of the many whose life has been irrevocably changed by the devastation of Hurricane Helene.

For the past five years, Andy has been a familiar face in the Erwin, Tennessee, and Nolichucky River Recreational Area communities. As a professional whitewater rafting and standup paddleboarding guide, he's shared his passion and expertise with countless others. Beyond his athleticism, Andy has been a pillar of the local recreational community—a community that, as of Friday, is unrecognizable.

The foothills of Unicoi County, which Andy calls home, were hit hard. Families are displaced, businesses have been reduced to rubble, and it will take years for the region to rebuild. Andy’s connection to this place and its people is deep—this community is his family, and now, it is gone.

Andy does not know I am launching this campaign, but I believe in the importance of supporting individuals like him, who selflessly serve others in times of crisis. Andy has been tirelessly volunteering for rescue efforts, giving his time and energy without compensation or expectation of recognition. He goes where he is needed, driven by a love for his community.

Many in the Southeast are in need right now, and Andy is just one of them. This campaign is to help him specifically—so that he can continue assisting others while he rebuilds his own life.

Your donation will go directly to Andy for two purposes:

To allow him to keep helping his community in these crucial days of recovery.

To give him the resources to start anew when the time comes, whether by rebuilding in his current area or finding a new place to call home.
