Help Andy Johnson Rebuild After Hurricane Helen
Donation protected
Aannii! My name is Stephanne, and I am the daughter of the widely loved Andy S. Johnson. A lot of people know my dad, and he knows a lot of people. And those who truly know him, know he would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Well folks, it's time to rally to raise this man up.
Unfortunately, the recent hurricane in Southwest Florida that hit the Gulf Coast, Hurricane Helen, completely destroyed everything my father owned below 5 feet, in and around his property, including his vehicle. More damage was caused to his body and belongings as they smothered in hot, hot humidity for days. Mold has taken over. None of the appliances work, which means no A.C. in above 100 degrees heat. It means no fresh food, no cooking, no running water... Nothing. It's all a complete loss, including his truck, which he just purchased fairly recently.
My father is on his way to the hospital in Spring Hills, Florida, and I will update as I can.
I am currently located over 1,000 miles away and can't do much... And because I know my dad is the kind of man to never, ever ask... I will. He needs help. And a lot of it. Obviously, reaching out and checking on him directly is great... Extremely encouraged. But he needs money to help rebuild his modest piece of paradise. It was his dream in the 1970s to up and take off to Florida... However, I came along shortly after and put that dream on hold for him. He waited until I gave birth to his only grandson (decades later) to chase that dream. He finally followed his dreams and found his piece of heaven on earth. His happiness. I can't let him lose it completely.... I know he has a long road ahead of him... The deputy who assisted him to the hospital confirmed my worst fears... So let's all get together and do what we can for the man who has helped so many. My dad, Andy Johnson. Donate what you can. Pray to who or what you believe in. Mother Nature is a force to reckon with, and my father shouldn't have to do this alone. Chi Miigwetch.
