Help Andy Hughes an NHS Hero
Donation protected
Hi,
Thank you for visiting our page. Our names are Harry (13) and Oli Morland (12) and we are trying to raise money for our beloved uncle Andy, his wife Zoe and their two children, Josh and Emily.
In July 2021, Andy collapsed at work after a run of nightshifts with the London Ambulance Service. Following an emergency scan he was diagnosed with an aggressive grade 4 brain tumour. Life is cruel. This is why we are setting up this fund to help Andy and his family. We hope it will enable them to have things to look forward to and to make special memories.
He has just finished the first round of gruelling radiotherapy and chemotherapy. He has a month’s respite before he starts the next round. We have all been devastated by the news that despite treatment the prognosis is poor and time left is short. Andrew has had to tell his children this shattering news.
Andy has spent most of his working- life as a paramedic for the London Ambulance Service, providing essential care, comfort and compassion for those in desperate need. Prior to and particularly during the Covid 19 pandemic he has worked around the clock, doing many extra, long shifts to cover staff shortages. As a result, he caught Covid 19 and was extremely ill.
Andy is a kind, generous, warm-hearted bloke with a wicked sense of humour and an infectious smile. He loves nothing more than being around his family and friends enjoying outdoor adventures.
We are hoping that anyone who reads this is able to donate something. However big or small, it will be gratefully received. It will help show Andy that his work as a paramedic is valued and help him during these terrible times.
Please share this page widely to help an NHS hero.
Thank you on behalf of ourselves, our family, and especially dearest Andy.
