Andy Ivie & David Fleming lost everything in a house fire early Tuesday morning on
June 2nd in South Corvallis. A home they were renting caught fire & burned to a total loss. When Andy entered his living room he saw the furniture, floor, & walls on fire. He ran upstairs to waken their sleeping roommate. Andy was barefoot as the two escaped, causing him to slip on the molten linoleum receiving intense second degree burns on both feet, legs, arm, & back. He thankfully has been released from the hospital, yet has a long road of recovery. It will be months before being able to return to work will even become an option. Luckily no one else was severely injured and their pets made it out safely. However everything they owned, including Andy’s partners & child's belongings, has been lost. They did not possess any insurance and we are asking for help on our community’s behalf.
David joined our team in early 2018 & Andy early 2020. Both have been full time evening line cooks & a huge part of our kitchen crews consistency, reliability, & deliciousness. If you have come through TacoVino for a late afternoon or evening meal in the past, Andy & David most certainly have prepped, roasted, sautéed, seared, fried your tacos & made you a meal.
Anything you donate will help in their recovery. Thank you!
