My co-worker, Andy, at Veterans United Realty, has experienced the unfortunate tragedy of a home fire on the evening of January 3, 2022. He and his wife, Misty, have 3 daughters ages 9, 12 and 17 as well as two inside dogs. Thankfully, they are all safe and the fire department did an excellent job of arriving quickly to get the fire out. In order to extinguish the fire, they cut a large hole in the roof and had to remove the ceilings in their home. While they are very grateful to be safe, they have been left with devastation inside their home that makes it unlivable for around 6 months. The youngest daughter was left with no wardrobe while everybody else was left with minimal items that haven't been ruined by smoke or water. This includes bedroom and living room furniture and pantry items. They currently have a short-term living situation and are looking for a long term solution. They need to start collecting all these items again for both immediate use as well as for their eventual move back into their home again. While they do have some renters insurance they should be receiving, it will not cover all needs and it will not be accessible for several weeks. Andy is always the first person to offer up help for anybody at work and it would be so much appreciated if we could help him just a little but during this very difficult time. Any amount is greatly appreciated!
