Thank you for coming to this page! My name is Andrii Korotun, I'm an international student from Ukraine who just finished the first year of college in the US. Although I've got a need-based scholarship that covers most of the tuition and fees, the amount left to pay is unbearable for me and my family.
I truly believe that we rise by lifting others. I live by that motto - throughout my high school years, I’ve co-founded two non-profit organizations focused on education. During my gap year, I worked as an elementary school teacher, helping kids learn about computers and robots. I also volunteer as a mentor at Ukraine Global Scholars, a non-profit organization that helps low-income students from Ukraine to gain admission to top universities around the world. After being a participant in the program, I joined as a mentor to give back in such a way.

I’ve been admitted to the Class of 2024 at the Minerva Schools at KGI, the most selective undergraduate program in the United States, in which students get to live and study in seven world capitals: San Francisco, Seoul, Hyderabad, Berlin, Buenos Aires, Taipei, and London while getting a world-class education. Together with my classmates, I get to travel to a new country each semester, which brings both exciting learning opportunities and high costs that I am struggling to pay. I applied via the Early Decision option as it was the school of my dreams - it offered a multidisciplinary approach and focused on practical concepts and skills.
I’m passionate about neuroscience and computer science. My dream is to work on the next generation of brain-computer interfaces, devices that help paralyzed people to live their lives fully again. My grandmother became fully paralyzed and lost most of her speech abilities after a stroke. I want to help fight such a disaster that strikes millions of people worldwide. I’m on my way to that dream via an internship at Deep Knowledge Group, an analytics company that works with cutting-edge industries, including neurotechnology!
I come from a low-income single-parent family, with my mom raising me alone since my grandparents passed. Town that we live in is in a rural area of Ukraine, a developing country in Eastern Europe. The first year of college depleted all my family savings, and my summer internship salary would cover only a fraction of the sum needed. I am a first-generation student who has carried the burden of paying for most of my academic finances.
$6450 I'm asking would cover $5950 in tuition fees and $500 for the plane ticket for the fall semester. This amount is not financially feasible on my own.
I'd appreciate any help, as any dollar would bring me closer to staying in the college of my dreams! I would also be grateful if you could help share my story or even just send a kind message my way. My university taught me the power of community, so I humbly hope that this power will allow me to keep pursuing my dreams and give back in the future!❤️
Please don't hesitate to contact me via my Facebook profile. Thank you!
