Dear Friends and Family,
On October 27, 2020, our eldest son Andrew, 9 years old was diagnosed with lung cancer; specifically, a very rare form of Ewing Sarcoma. Andrew has a large tumor on his left lung and smaller tumor masses on his right lung. We have been traveling weekly from Laredo to San Antonio since then for his chemotherapy treatments, lab tests and frequent oncology appointments at University Hospital. Watching your child endure cancer treatments has to be one of the most heartbreaking things we hope you never have to experience. Having to explain cancer and his treatment to Andrew and share the news to his 3 brothers, Matthew 7, Isaac 4, and Jacob 1 and smile and tell them everything will be ok and to comfort them daily and never let them see you cry...to say as parents we’re not prepared for this, is an understatement. Life is so unpredictable and never in a million years would we have guessed we would have to face a challenge as great as this.
We lovingly request for your prayers for Andrew to be comforted and healed, for his brothers to not worry so much and for the staff at University Hospital to make the right treatment decisions to help Andrew beat his cancer! We the Martinez Family, are believers and we WILL beat this cancer.
We humbly ask for any financial assistance you may donate to help offset the tremendous medical, travel, and miscellaneous expenses that we are facing as we battle with Andrew to defeat this cancer. Thank you, friends and family for your support!
