Support Andrew and his family

Hi everyone, my name is Lourdes and I'm setting this gofundme for a dear friend of ours, Andrew Wojcik.

Andrew is a happily married father of five and grandfather to 2 beautiful little boys who adore him. He has been a part of our church family for years now, and is one of the most humble people, always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need, and loves to be involved in our community events.

Up until a few months ago, Andrew was in good health. However, around the time we started Lockdown 6.0 in early August, he started to feel very tired all the time. He put it down to just being overworked and run down. After a couple of weeks, he wasn't feeling any better and he decided to get checkout. The GP said it could be a number of things, nothing to worry about. How wrong he was!

Two weeks ago, his eldest son Ben, went by his parents house to check on him and found his father to be severely jaundiced. At this point, it was decided Andrew would go to the hospital as they felt something else was going on.

After many tests, ultrasounds, CT scans, etc, it was revealed that Andrew had Stage 4 liver cancer. In one month, the cancer had started in his colon and aggressively spread to his upper intestine, upper lungs and it now covers most of his liver.

Last week, when he saw the oncologist surgeon, he was told that there's nothing they can do for him. If he was to go on chemo, it would kill him faster because his immune system is very weak. He's at home, and as Andrew put it, 'he's on borrowed time'.  He's main worry is that he won't be able to support his family.

I'm hoping that by setting up this gofundme page, it would give Andrew some peace of mind. All funds received would go towards any medical care, funeral expenses, bills. After that, anything left over would go to his family to help with anything else they may need and to help with day to day costs.
