67 years old living out of my car

Update: I'm sitting here in my car, facing a tough moment with limited resources,. You know it's funny, I'm on a fixed income I can't afford to pay rent. I walk up right, I pray, I don't squander my money and after paying all my bills I get through the month about 2 weeks and everyday is a struggle. I try and make what I can from doordash and I'm not having very good luck. It seems all my money is going to gas and food. My right arm is making daily tasks difficult and I guess because of my age I grow tired easily, but I'm determined to turn things around. As someone who's always been self-sufficient and supportive of others, I'm learning to navigate a new challenge. It's a humbling experience, but I'm choosing to see it as an opportunity for growth. I'm reaching out for help, which isn't easy for me, but I'm confident that with support, I can get back on my feet. Despite not generating funds on GoFundMe yet, I remain hopeful that things will shift. Maybe this is a chance for me to discover new strengths and resources.

I never thought I would be in a position where I had to ask for help, but my life changed very quickly after a work injury forced me into early retirement.

I am 67 years old and have worked hard my entire life. After my workers’ compensation claim was denied, I lost the income I depended on. My retirement income is not enough to cover basic living expenses, even before rent. I have used up my savings and am now selling the household items I have in storage just to stay afloat. What makes it even more difficult is since I retired everything keeps going up. I came to Idaho in hopes that the economy would be better but when I left Texas not 2 months ago gas was $2 a gallon now I'm paying $5 a gallon, this economy is not helping at all and everyday is getting harder. I can't get a job right now because my right arm is useless.

I am living out of my car because I can no longer afford rent and everyday has become a challenge. My car urgently needs new tires, and that has become a major concern because it is currently my only shelter and transportation.

I am doing my best to keep up with my bills, but I have fallen behind. My credit cards are maxed out, and I can no longer afford the payments.

Asking for help does not come easily to me. I have always tried to handle things on my own, but I have reached a point where I truly need support to get back on my feet. I applied for housing assistance, but I was told the waiting list was already full, with an estimated wait of three to five years.

Any help you can give would go directly toward necessities and hopefully get a place of residence. If you are unable to donate, simply sharing this page would mean more than you know.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
