About a month ago, my brother-in-law Andrew had to have 90% of his foot removed due to complications from diabetes. This life-changing surgery has brought many new challenges for Andrew and his wife, my sister, who are both seniors living on social security. My sister is also disabled, which makes daily life even more difficult for them. Before the surgery, Andrew was able to drive himself to dialysis three times a week, but now he is unable to do so on his own.
The road ahead will not be easy. They are facing the need for a wheelchair-accessible ramp to get in and out of their home safely, as well as ongoing medical supplies to help Andrew recover and manage his health. With both of them on a fixed income, these expenses are overwhelming and beyond what they can handle alone.
My sister has always been the kind of person who would help anyone in need, and now she and Andrew could use a helping hand themselves. Any support you can offer—whether it’s a donation or simply sharing their story—would mean the world to our family. Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity.
