Hi, my name is Alexa, and I’m raising funds to help support my boyfriend (Andrew) after a sudden, permanent, life changing spinal cord injury.

My boyfriend was in a devastating accident that caused multiple spinal fractures and a spinal cord injury. He required emergency spinal decompression surgery and a multi-level spinal fusion. He now has rods and hardware stabilizing his spine. The surgery saved his life, but everything changed in an instant.

He is currently unable to walk and is in an inpatient rehabilitation center. Every day is uncertain, and the road ahead will be long. Despite this, he is alive, and healing.

UPDATE‼️

Andy is coming home in a wheelchair next week, and I’m trying to become his full-time caregiver with no income. The application can take time-that i do not have. I am now facing new challenges. I’m overwhelmed because I have no steady income, but I’m the one who will be responsible for his daily care while I apply for government caregiver assistance that can take time to start.

I’m driving back and forth constantly, trying to prepare our home, care for our cats, and figure out how to support both of us while everything changes at once. I am about to have a mental breakdown. I am 26, and I recently lost my job of almost 4 years of employment. Every penny donated has been what has helped me. I am grateful for the kindness and support.
