I'm Doreen DiBella,  Andrew Florek's mother. On 711/20 at 10pm I was woken up by every parents worst nightmare.  The call that their son was in an accident. At first we ran to Wayne memorial only to be sent to cmc as my son was lifeflighted . He lay there paralyzed from the waist down,  emergency spinal cord surgery was set for the morning.  Surgery went well  andrew remained in ICU for 2 weeks and has been transferred to a physical rehabilitation center for spinal cord injury. The prognosis is 10% due to his 5th and 6th disk which controls his movement of hands and below his  waist.  He can move his shoulder right arm and flick his right wrist which is a miracle in itself.  He has a long road ahead Of rehabilitation and recovery. I have to have my house handicapped accessible so he can come home  doorways widened ,ramps installed and a handicapped bathroom . With everyones generous donations Andrew can be in the comfort of his own home while continuing his physical rehabilitation in hopes that he will walk again.  Thank you for your prayers kind words and donations for my son Andrew Florek.
