We have started this campaign on behalf of our dear friends Andrew Highsmith and Bobby Sasson and their three amazing children, Asha, Mira, and Aneel.

How often have you experienced a headache and nausea? Try to imagine that you head to the doctor to get these symptoms checked out and they tell you that you have an aggressive form of brain cancer, Stage IV Glioblastoma Multiforme. This is exactly what happened on July 12, 2025 (~8 months ago and counting) to Andrew. That day will be etched in our memory forever.

Andrew underwent emergency surgery immediately after diagnosis and has gone through several rounds of radiation and chemotherapy since. Though he’s heroically managed to temporarily hold back the tumor’s relentless growth, Andrew is at the end of the line for traditional treatment options. After he finishes this final round, there aren’t many options left for treatment until there is a recurrence of the cancer, and when that happens the already steep odds become even less in his favor.

To prevent a recurrence, Bobby and Andrew have had to go beyond the limits of chemo and radiation. After an extensive search for treatment options, they have decided that Andrew’s best chance for continuing to fight this aggressive cancer is to pursue a series of personalized cancer vaccines that have shown great promise in inducing durable immune responses but are not covered by insurance.

The price tag, completely out of pocket, is $125k. That is a cost no family should need to shoulder alone, especially when you have one child in college now and two more who will soon be college bound.

Andrew needs to beat the odds, and we (their friends and family near and far) urgently need to help give them the financial support to do it. Please do one or both of the following as soon as you can:
