Andrew is an incredible 36 year old husband, father, son, brother and friend. He is always eager to help someone in need, and with a smile. He works hard for his family, loves sports, fishing, and more than anything, loves his wife Denise, 2 year old son Dennis, and his family.
In May 2020, Andrew was admitted to the hospital after several weeks of experiencing various symptoms; migraines, vomiting, tremors, confusion and some personality changes. He immediately underwent a CT scan and MRI which revealed a large tumor in the frontal lobe of his brain. Andrew was transferred to Jefferson Neuro Unit and surgeons removed a large portion of the tumor. Unfortunately, they were unable to remove it all. The biopsy and pathology revealed that Andrew has anaplastic astrocytoma grade III; in layman's terms, brain cancer.
His journey towards recovery is just beginning as he will have to endure multiple cycles of radiation and chemotherapy for the next 12 months.
During this time, Andrew will most likely be unable to work due to the nature of his cancer treatments and the physical toll they will take on his body. Andrew unfortunately does not have disability coverage, and his medical bills for his cancer treatments and scans will be ongoing.
Brain surgery itself is a huge ordeal, and this diagnosis has been completely devastating for this young family. To help Andrew, his wife Denise, and their 2 year old son Dennis through this time, we are creating this fundraiser in the hope that we allow them to focus on fighting and beating brain cancer; but also to allow them some financial freedom to spend quality time together and make the best life memories possible during this challenging time.
Easing the financial burden will allow Andrew and his family to concentrate on his cancer treatments, his recovery, and additional time with his wife and son.
