In February 2026, Andres’ life changed in a way he never expected. He was diagnosed with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction of just 25%, caused by dilated cardiomyopathy and early-onset ischemic heart disease.
This condition runs in his family—his father passed away at just 41 years old from heart complications, and several relatives on his side have struggled with the same issues. Because of how severe his condition is and the high risk it carries, his doctors have told him that he needs urgent surgery within the next two months.
He will need an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) along with cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT). This device will monitor his heart rhythm and can save his life if his heart suddenly stops or goes into a dangerous rhythm. Without it, his risk of sudden cardiac death is extremely high.
All who know Andy know of how generous, hospitable, and caring he is to his family and friends. Through his many years of full-time service, he has touched many hearts and been a good friend to so many. This has been overwhelming—physically, emotionally, and financially. The cost of the surgery, the device, hospital care, medications, and recovery time is far more than he can manage on his own. I’m asking for help on his behalf so he can focus on what matters most right now: getting this life-saving treatment and recovering.
Every donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward the ICD and CRT device costs, hospital and surgical expenses, medications, follow-up care, and time off work during recovery. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this page. Your support, prayers, and kindness mean more than we can express. Thank you for standing with Andres during this difficult time.
