My name is Andreas Douglas I recently moved out of my home with my 6 kids and put all of my belongings in a storage until I found my new place. We had flooding July 6th all through out the Greensboro Mebane area. The water levels reached to just below rooftop of all the storage buildings, all of my furniture has been damaged, couches, mattresses, washer, dryer, all of the kids things. The storage owners are not allowing us in and when I went to try and open my storage they threatened to call the police. We are being told that by appointment they will let customers in to assess their belongings and see what was salvageable and then make another appointment for you to come get your things out, during this time our things are sitting in bacterial infested river flood water. Also the insurance that was being paid monthly does not cover flood damage. Anything will help as I’ve always been a giver and not one to ask or need much from others, this is difficult for me.
