Help Andrea Through The Loss Of Her Husband

Donation protected

My name is Jocelyn and I am here on behalf of my husband and his family. Today, we sadly lost a truly great man. An amazing father of four sons, a dedicated husband, and a true friend to so many. It is hard to adequately describe Philip’s outstanding character or the depth of his heart. Philip was committed to his career, but always spared the time to help anyone in need. Philip was always eager to go above and beyond to brighten someone’s day. He was very attentive to detail, things unspoken, and always willing to make a difference. He was a true light in the darkness, a beacon of hope. Always had a smile on his face, encouraging others to do their best. He was the rock, the foundation, for his wife and sons. Within the last month, he was working late evening shifts for his job, where he contracted covid. He tested positive and was told to refrain from working for 14 days. For the first week, he was able to roam in the house and mow the grass. My 17-month-old son and I were isolated in the room and watched his progress to recovery. within the week, his conditions began to deteriorate and had become bedridden. My mother-in-law, Andrea, supported him with an oxygen apparatus to assist breathing. With his condition getting worse, EMS was called and he was taken to the hospital. He struggled to breathe and stay calm, but Andrea was able to soothe him in a way no one could. Within the time he was in the hospital, he was diagnosed with double pneumonia and an Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) and required dialysis. on the 4th of August, he was becoming anxious from the medication given and the nurse came to assist. He was getting worse and he coded. From there, he was given CPR until he was revived now and put in a medically induced coma so that his body could heal. The family was called and encouraged to come, as his conditions became critical. Her son, Calan, was stationed in MCAS Beaufort, South Carolina, and was flown to him via a Red Cross message. All of his children were present to take care of their father. within the next few days, he had crashed twice and fought to stay alive. On August 7, the doctor came in and told the family his team would do everything possible to support Philip. later that evening, despite all the medication, his blood pressure continued to drop. He had crashed for the last time and the medical team fought to bring him back. already maxed out on medication, the nurse looked at Andrea and said there was nothing they could do. His heart slowly faded for over an hour while his wife and sons beckoned, screamed, and cried for him to come back. He never recovered. That night, Philip Colvin had died due to Covid-19. He was the financial support for Andrea and their 14-year-old son, Cameron. Their home, destroyed, in 2018 by hurricane Michael, and the loss of Andrea's Job as a nurse due to Covid has put so much financial strain on their family. Andrea and her sons are planning his funeral service and the most I can do is to cry for help, begging anyone to please help this family in their lowest times and prayers for everyone who is going through the losses of Covid-19. Andrea wants to voice all of her thanks and appreciation for all the staff and physicians at Bay Medical center for the wonderful care he received while he was there. She and her husband strongly suggest everyone gets vaccinated so that they might not have to go through the same loss they have to endure. Thank you for taking the time to read this and we ask that you help. All of the funds donated will be given to Andrea so that she may be able to afford the mounting medical expenses, bills, and funeral services. Services will be held at Wilson Funeral Home on Saturday, August 14th at 10:30am. The viewing will be Friday from 6-8pm. Thank you everyone and have a blessed day.
