My name is Andrea Pruett, I am 84 years old and I have been the proud owner of the World Famous Historic Bagdad Cafe' in Newberry Springs on Route 66 for over 30 Years. We are now open 7 days a week from 9am to 7pm.

- In 1987 the Cafe' was used for the Famous movie "Bagdad Cafe'" directed by Percy Adlon. Thanks to the notoriety and the people who love this movie, everyday I have the joy of meeting people from all over the world, all coming to see the Bagdad Cafe' in person and leave something personal behind.
I enjoy singing and dancing with the many visitors everyday, you really can "Feel the Magic" here, many special things have happened at the Bagdad over the years.
- Because of the COVID-19 plandemic I lost all the business from all my international travelers and with the many bus tours that stopped by almost everyday, this accounted for about 80% of my business. For the first time I had to close my doors.
The Bagdad Cafe' is more than a business to me, my husband bought it for me, shortly before he passed away. This Cafe' has become my home and the only thing I have.
It became a very hard time for me, I was always falling behind. I had to let go of my employees, that have been with me for years. The Bagdad Cafe' phone number was turned off. (We now have that same number for the last 30 years working again)
- I reopened the Cafe' so that visitors could come inside and take photos, but we are not able to serve food, (just cold drinks) like we used to do when the business was running like it was for so many previous years.
We had many holes in the roof and ceiling (the building was built in 1950s) and every time it rained the Cafe' was flooded and all the memorabilia left by so many visitors over the years was getting damaged.
We created a GoFundMe back in February 2024 to have the roof and ceilings repaired.
- Wonderhussy came out to do a video about me and the Cafe's condition and then published her video on her You Tube Channel Wonderhussy Adventures
Because of her 271K members and the 68K people who watched this one video, it has been a huge success.
- Please support her You Tube Channel. She does amazing videos of places to explore in Nevada and California.
Wonderhussy has been a supporter and great friend to the Bagdad Cafe all for free, just because she loves the Bagdad.
- The GoFundMe was a amazing success, we reached our goal and had a new roof installed in April and a new ceiling in August.
- We have come along way to get the Bagdad Cafe' back in shape , safe, cleaned up and looking good.
I want to thank everyone who has helped me get the Bagdad Cafe' back to a wonderful condition, I didn't dream it would ever be this nice again. There was just 650 people who donated to help, some were just a few dollars and some were large donations.

- This new second GoFundMe is for the kitchen and septic system upgrade, which both need lots of work, we want to be up and running to serve food again to all our visitors ASAP.
- I am trying with this one last GoFundMe to finish the last step needed to Save and Restore the Bagdad Cafe'. My dream is for the Bagdad Cafe' to continue to be here and open well into the future, not like so many things along Route 66 that have disappeared and vandalized.
- The 100th anniversary of Route 66 is coming up and I want the Bagdad Cafe' to be at it's best.
We would like to have a nice event on April 26, 2025 which will be a celebration for all the support by Wonderhussy and also my birthday, so that all the people who supported me and the Bagdad Cafe, can come here and enjoy what they helped make happen and I can thank you in person.

I had some help in creating a French, Spanish and German translations on GoFundMe
- We created a brand new website a few months ago (Bagdad-Cafe-USA.com) for the first time, for the Bagdad Cafe' to share the experience of the fun and "Feel the Magic" that happens here everyday.
This will allow us to sell Bagdad Cafe' merchandise/souvenirs, which will help us succeed. If you would rather buy some merchandise/souvenirs instead of a donation, everything helps.
Once we have everything fixed and the business is successful again, we will be able to keep everything on track and work on some feature projects to improve the Bagdad.
- We just setup a display with the Original Boomerangs from the Bagdad Cafe movie, Alan Scott Craig who who played Eric, The Boomerang Guy in the movie.
- Alan has been designing Boomerangs for over 40 years and is supplying us with his many custom made Boomerangs for visitors to buy and even teaches people how to fly a boomerang.
- It is great to have a original cast member, share his experiences from the set, we will be adding his stories and pictures to the website.
Maybe have camping and RV parking on our 6 acre lot. Visitors can spend more time here.
This will all happen because of everyone's help.

En 1987, le Café a été utilisé pour le tournage du célèbre film « Bagdad Café », réalisé par Percy Adlon. Grâce à sa notoriété et à l'admiration du public pour ce film, j'ai chaque jour le plaisir de rencontrer des gens du monde entier, venus tous découvrir le Bagdad Café en personne et laisser derrière eux un souvenir personnel.
J'aime chanter et danser avec les nombreux visiteurs chaque jour, vous pouvez vraiment « ressentir la magie » ici, beaucoup de choses spéciales se sont produites à Bagdad au fil des ans.
- À cause de la pandémie de COVID-19, j'ai perdu tous mes clients internationaux et, avec les nombreux bus touristiques qui passaient presque quotidiennement, cela représentait environ 80 % de mon activité. Pour la première fois, j'ai dû fermer mes portes.
Le Bagdad Café est plus qu'une simple entreprise pour moi : mon mari me l'a acheté peu de temps avant son décès. Ce Café est devenu mon foyer et la seule chose que j'ai.
Cela a été une période très difficile pour moi, j'étais constamment en retard. J'ai dû me séparer de mes employés, qui étaient avec moi depuis des années. Le numéro de téléphone du Bagdad Café a été désactivé. (Nous avons maintenant le même numéro depuis 30 ans et il fonctionne à nouveau.)
J'ai rouvert le Café pour que les visiteurs puissent entrer et prendre des photos, mais nous ne pouvons plus servir de nourriture (uniquement des boissons fraîches) comme nous le faisions lorsque l'entreprise fonctionnait comme elle l'a fait pendant tant d'années.
Nous avions de nombreux trous dans le toit et le plafond (le bâtiment a été construit dans les années 1950) et chaque fois qu'il pleuvait, le café était inondé et tous les souvenirs laissés par tant de visiteurs au fil des ans étaient endommagés.
Nous avons créé un GoFundMe en février 2024 pour faire réparer le toit et les plafonds.

Nous avons parcouru un long chemin pour remettre le Bagdad Café en état, sûr, propre et en bon état.
Je tiens à remercier tous ceux qui m'ont aidé à remettre le Bagdad Café dans un état impeccable. Je n'aurais jamais imaginé qu'il serait à nouveau aussi beau. Seulement 650 personnes ont fait un don, certains pour quelques dollars, d'autres pour des sommes importantes.

Cette deuxième campagne GoFundMe est destinée à la rénovation de la cuisine et de la fosse septique, qui nécessitent beaucoup de travaux. Nous souhaitons être opérationnels et pouvoir à nouveau servir de la nourriture à tous nos visiteurs au plus vite.
Avec cette dernière campagne GoFundMe, j'essaie de finaliser la dernière étape nécessaire à la sauvegarde et à la restauration du Bagdad Café. Mon rêve est que le Bagdad Café continue d'exister et ouvre ses portes longtemps, contrairement à tant d'autres sites le long de la Route 66 qui ont disparu et ont été vandalisés.
- Le 100e anniversaire de la Route 66 approche et je souhaite que le Bagdad Café soit au meilleur de sa forme.

Nous venons d'installer une exposition avec les boomerangs originaux du film « Bagdad Café », par Alan Scott Craig, qui interprète Eric, le Boomerang Guy dans le film.
Alan conçoit des boomerangs depuis plus de 40 ans et nous fournit ses nombreux boomerangs personnalisés que les visiteurs peuvent acheter. Il leur apprend même à faire voler un boomerang.
C'est formidable d'avoir un membre de l'équipe originale qui partage ses expériences sur le tournage ; nous publierons ses anecdotes et ses photos sur le site web.
Nous pourrions peut-être installer un camping et un parking pour camping-cars sur notre terrain de 2,4 hectares. Les visiteurs pourront y passer plus de temps.
Tout cela sera possible grâce à la contribution de tous.
Le Bagdad Café est un monument historique américain de la Route 66, où l'on peut toujours compter, comme pour moi.
