Help Andrea Recover After a Devastating Hit-and-Run Accident.
We are seeking support for our mother, Andrea, who was the victim of a horrific hit-and-run accident in the morning of May 27th around 4:30am. She was driving southbound on I-57 in the Matteson, IL area heading to work when a pickup truck struck her vehicle and fled the scene. The impact caused her car to flip, leaving her trapped and alone for 2 hours until a passerby spotted her car and called for help around 6:30am.
Andrea was rushed to Olympia Fields Hospital and later airlifted to Stroger Hospital due to the severity of her injuries. She underwent emergency surgery for internal bleeding due to a ruptured spleen. She also sustained six fractured ribs and a broken collar bone.
At 59 years old, Andrea is a mother of five and a grandmother to eight. She always strives to put others first and would give the shirt off her back to help someone in need. Now, she needs our help.
With no leads yet on the driver who left behind, we are also facing significant financial uncertainty. Andrea only carried liability insurance, and she will be out of work for an extended period as she recovers. Funds raised will go toward basic necessities, medical bills, and eventually help her replace her vehicle if possible.
If you’re unable to donate, we completely understand — times are tough for many. But sharing this campaign could make a world of difference. If anyone has any information about the accident or witnessed anything, please come forward. You can contact one of her daughters Megan Van Houtegen or Melissa Potoski via Facebook.
Thank you for your kindness, support and prayers during this difficult time.
