The NATCA Disaster Response Committee is kindly asking everyone for their assistance in helping Andrea Benninger (Fisher), her partner, and 2 dogs who have literally lost everything as a result of storm surge flooding from Hurricane Helene. The first-floor condo she owns in Clearwater, FL, received more than 3 feet of water throughout the entire home, resulting in it becoming uninhabitable as well as a loss of 90 percent of her belongings. Her home will need to be completely gutted and rebuilt. The NATCA Disaster Response Committee assisted her within 12 hours of the storm's impact with generators, air movers, dehumidifiers, and volunteers to assist with removing debris and opening up walls.
Her hurricane insurance does not cover storm surge damage, and although her HOA flood insurance will repair her home, it does not cover its contents or provide temporary housing while she is displaced and her home is being rebuilt for the next 6 months.
Andrea is a 17-year member of NATCA working at ZTL and TPA, and has served as a local executive board member, legislative representative, crew representative, and drug & alcohol representative. Unfortunately, she has been living on a reduced income since April as a result of a work-sustained injury.
Although she has applied for assistance from FEMA, Airbnb, and other local services... there is no guarantee of assistance. This fundraiser will provide Andrea with the resources to secure temporary housing for the next six months and replace the contents of her home.
