Help Andrea prepare for liver transplant

Donation protected
Hi friends, Andrea and Makenzie here, we have some news to share.
Unfortunately, once again a major medical crisis strikes our family. I have been diagnosed with end stage liver disease (Cirrhosis) and I need a liver transplant.
Back in January 2022 my body went into acute liver failure, I was rushed to Samaritan Hospital where the doctors used many medications to stop the progression of acute liver failure.  They were successful in saving my life, but significant damage was already done. My liver is very scarred, fibrosed, and it is unable to repair itself.  The medication is only helping my liver to function 30% at best!

I am currently working with a team of doctors from NY Presbyterian in regard to the transplant. The doctors have been evaluating my condition for the last 6 months. I’ve have been battling many, many symptoms, and complications since being diagnosed, fluid retention (acities), along with a belly tap, hepatic encephalopathy that affects the brain, weight loss and sleeplessness. I’m going to soon be having a cardiac procedure and possible stent placement (that I didn’t know about until 2 days ago!) I wasn’t expecting to be told “Yes you qualify for a liver transplant” so soon but here we are.
As we walk down this path that leads to being added to the transplant list there have been many doctor’s visits, extended stays in NYC, testing, and payments outside the scope of my insurance. This is a barrier to my recovery, my mental health and added stress for my family.

So my family and friends, with my heart heavy and tears in my eyes, I am asking for help. I don't like asking for help, especially for myself, but I'm waving the white flag... We need help. The additional expenses are becoming too much for us to bear alone. I currently am unable to work, and with a child, we all know how hard that can be. Also applied for disability but Disability is well… disability Takes forever. We would forever appreciate any financial help you can offer, thoughts, prayers, and would love to see unique ways you can lift our spirits (funny cards, pictures, stories). There is a long road ahead, but with the love and support of my family and friends, I am determined to stay strong and make it through.
