My kidneys have failed. I'm on dialysis and needing a kidney
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Andrea. I’m 30 years old, and I’m reaching out during one of the hardest times in my life.
On June 11, 2025, my kidneys suddenly failed. I’m now undergoing emergency hemodialysis through a central line placed directly into my heart. On June 23rd, I had my second surgery to place a port for peritoneal dialysis so I can continue treatment at home. In the next month I will need to train on how to do that.
I was also diagnosed with Crohn’s disease back in 2017, and managing both conditions has been overwhelming—physically, emotionally, and financially. Everything has happened so fast, and I haven’t had time or resources to fully prepare.
A kidney transplant is likely in the near future—possibly this year or next. While I’m doing my best to stay strong and hopeful, the costs that come with this journey are more than we can handle alone. medical bills, travel, temporary lodging, and everyday living expenses, are in the near future. We will need to relocate for 2–3 months during the procedure.
I’m humbly asking for help to get through this chapter. Any support—whether it’s a donation or simply sharing my story—means more than words can say. Your kindness will help lift some of the weight off our shoulders and allow me to focus on healing.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Please consider sharing if you can.
With gratitude,
Andrea
